CIS 656, Fall 2004. The course has only 13 sessions. For that reason we will make the classes a bit longer: Sat 9:00 - 12:10. There will be homework, two midterms, a final, and a project. The project will consist of two parts: I and II. The project will be similar to the CIS 656 projects in previous semesters. The project will be done by teams of students, of 1 student or 2 students each. It is recommended to work in teams of two. Students are encouraged to discuss the general approach to the project between teams. However, sharing code is absolutely not allowed, and will lead to loss of credit or worse. The schedule is: Sept 04 Sept 11 Sept 18 Sept 25 Project description will be distributed. Oct 02 Midterm 1 Oct 09 Oct 16 Project I due. (This is the easy part of the project). Oct 23 Oct 30 (Nov 02: last day to withdraw). Nov 06 Midterm 2 Nov 13 Project II due. (This part is much more work: start in time!) Nov 20 (No class Nov 27) Dec 04 I prefer to have the final on Sat 12/11. If that leads to a problem, tell me as soon as possible. Dec 11 Final Exam. Grade compuation, weights: Homework 15% Midterm I 10% Midterm II: 20% Final: 30% Project A: 7% (reading a header and printing the fields) Project B: 18% (routing a packet) You need roughly 90% to get an A.
